Earlier this week we began testing the employees and residents in our Skilled Nursing facility. On June 12, a case of COVID-19 was diagnosed in a vendor at our Union City community. The vendor is asymptomatic and quarantined at home. Presently, no residents or employees have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
We have notified public health officials and are following procedures recommended by the CDC. I want to reassure you that we have taken immediate steps to mitigate the spread of the illness, including contact tracing of the vendor and any residents in contact with the vendor, and a deep cleaning in all areas of the campus. There is no greater priority than the health and well-being of our residents and staff. Our thoughts are with our vendor.
We took precautions early in the onset of this pandemic to safeguard our campuses, including taking the daily temperature of all residents and staff, being vigilant about monitoring for symptoms, and limiting visitors and staff on our campuses. We redouble our efforts today.
